My new Marvel project was announced this past weekend at the New York Comic Con; I'll be writing one of the Mystic Arcana one-shots featuring Nico Minoru, aka Sister Grimm, from Runaways. The event is going to turn the spotlight on Marvel's magic based characters and try to do for them what Annihilation did for cosmic characters! Roy Thomas is writing a Black Knight story, Jeff Parker will be on Scarlet Witch, and Louise Simonson is returning to pen Magik, which I can't wait for!!
Nico's story is set after the first arc, when our young Runaways were sent to foster homes by Captain America, before they eventually regrouped. Miss Minoru was at "Father Flanagan’s Home for Unwanted Goth Kids” and this story is about an arcanic awakening she had while there. It's all pretty cool and I'm extremely psyched about it!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for sticking around above and beyond the allocated hour on Saturday for the 'breaking in' panel you did with Rich Johnston and Collen Doran - it was a very useful panel (and informative).
Now I'm off to blanket email associate editors with fill-in plots for late books... ;)

That's a crazy spooky cover. Isn't Marko doing the X-men First Class covers? I like this much more!

ReplyDeleteI found you through The Beat. Your new one-shot sounds cool. It has alway been my hope that Marvel would fill the void, that was once what DC's Vertigo was going to be like, until they dropped their core books, for second rate newcomers.
