Avengers Fairy Tales Preview

No offense to any of the other artists I have ever worked with, but I truly believe this is one of the most unique and beautiful comics Marvel has published in a long time. The art is by João Lemos and Christina Strain, with a Claire Wendling cover! See for yourself...

In Case You Missed It...

Drain artist Sana Takeda continues to work her way into the American comics scene this week by providing the art for Aspen Showcase: Grace. Written by my buddy Vince Hernandez, Sana's painted pages bring his emotional script to life in a story that further expands the Soulfire mythos. If you've got a couple extra bucks at the shop this week, please drop it down and check out this one-shot . It's sure to be money well spent!

An American Geek in France

I met a lot of cool people and had some wonderful times in Angouleme this year, but one of the definite highlights was meeting the creative team behind the wonderful French comic, Les Geeks. Written by the "Gang", illustrated by Thomas Labourot, and colored by Christian Lerolle, Les Geeks is about... well, who says a title can't say it all... geeks! It's a celebration of geek culture, told through the eyes of not only us geeks who live and love it, but also from the perspective of the wives and girlfriends who we've dragged into our fanboy worlds. It's a wonderful look at comics, video games, Star Wars and all the other things geek, seen from both the male and female point of views. You can check it out yourself here: http://www.lesgeeks.net (Only in French for now.)

Of the five days I spent in Angouleme, a large part of that time was passed talking, eating and drinking with the Les Geeks Gang. Needless to say, we had all the same interests and never lacked anything to talk about. Even given certain language barriers, we all clicked, I felt.

And I guess the Gang felt the same way because no sooner do I get home then do I get an e-mail introducing me to the latest Geek of the group...Meet Charles Benoit. Look like anyone you know?!

So I'm told that if all goes according to plan, I will be making my Les Geeks debut later this year! I'll keep you posted.

And I can't thank the Gang Geek enough for this surprise and honor! You guys rock!!

Back from Angouleme

I was so busy in France I never had the chance to post anything up here. Sorry! I did take lots of pictures though which I'll be sharing as soon as I get caught up on work. Here's a quick one from the last day of the show. I think this shot about sums up the end of any good con...

Italia Here I Come!

Despite ChesterQuest having "officially" ended, I will be making one additional, last-minute stop on the tour... Italy!

I've felt bad for months now for having missed the comics festival in Lucca last year. I know I let down a lot of Italian artists and fans. However, these unfortunate circumstances did not go unnoticed by Marvel's publisher in Italy, PANINI, and my friends Francesco and Sara there were kind enough to be able to make arrangements for me to fly in for Mantova Comics and Games 2008! I'll be there all three days, from February 29th to March 2nd and you can read all about my appearance here.

Looking forward to seeing many of you there!
